Homeschooling and Traveling Families in Goa Group on Facebook

Group for Traveling Families, Worldschoolers, Unschoolers, Expat Families and Home Schoolers interested in spending time in Goa, India! Local families interested in connecting with the International community in Goa are also welcomed.

Group by Elly, an unschooling mama of two girls (born in 2013 and 2019), originally from New Zealand, who with her partner Colin, have been living a location-independent lifestyle and finding way as a digital nomad family since February 2017.

Following is message from Elly in relation to this group

"We spent 3 years in SE Asia, followed by 2.5 years in Europe (mainly the Balkans, and a full year in Turkey!). At the end of October 2022, we went to Georgia, where we intended to spend up to a year. It didn't work out there so we made a swift change of plans and arrived in Goa in January 2023.

We have the one year e-visa and will be in Goa until the end of March/beginning of April, when we'll need to do a visa run. We're currently unsure whether we'll return to Goa after this, or whether we'll take the seemingly more cost-effective route of taking a one-way flight somewhere else and staying there for a few months (this is how we usually operate).

We love meeting and connecting with other like-minded families. If you're already in Goa or interested in visiting, then welcome! We hope to meet you sometime soon. Let's use this group to share tips about visiting and living in Goa and planning meet-ups with other families. We love seeing communities coming together organically and forming incredible, life-long friendships.

We had a lovely community of a handful of families at Lake Ohrid in North Macedonia during spring 2021. And during our year in Turkey, a solid worldschooling community formed in Fethiye. Let's see who's interested in joining us and exploring the beautiful State of Goa!

There is a huge number of Facebook groups for Goa. I've tried reaching out in the Expat groups but only got replies from single guys or the odd couple. Yet I know there are plenty of families here and plenty more who are interested to visit this magical corner of the globe. Let's get the conversations going so we can connect, help each other out, and form some beautiful friendships."
